Amy has her Master’s in Psychology & often utilizes yoga within her psychotherapy practice. She has lead yoga classes at Fairbanks Treatment Center helping people recovering from substance abuse to explore healthy self-care. The opportunity to slow down, tune into one’s self and discover one’s truth is what has continued to draw Amy into yoga. Mike Camp found his way to yoga at the suggestion of a neighbor who loaned him a yoga basics video. He immediately fell in love with the stretches, the calm soothing meditative flow and the rich heritage of yoga. It was not long after he started practicing with the videos that he discovered All People Yoga Center. He quickly dove into the varied class offerings, made fast friends of students and teachers alike and looked for ways to further his interest in yoga. He has assisted Nancy Schalk in her vinyasa classes from 2004 through 2008. In 2005 he completed the Yoga Teacher Training Class offered by Nancy Schalk & Ann Miller. He was fortunate to find a teaching job immediately upon completing the class and has truly found a new passion in his life. Mike’s Friday Night Yoga class is a fairly eclectic vinyasa flow with a mix of more modern music and emphasis on corrections and adjustments throughout the practice. When Mike is not teaching he is busy taking photos of yoga classes and has just recently produced a Morning Vinyasa Video featuring Nancy Schalk and a class of All People Yoga students and staff. Mike and his wife Patty have been married for 28 years. They have three children David, Katie & Ben.

Laura Spriggs began practicing yoga in
Cincinnati in 2000, and in 2002 her path led her to Anusara Yoga®, a style of
Hatha Yoga that uses Universal Principles of Alignment™ to align the body,
mind, and spirit; celebrates the goodness in people and in life; and draws
people together toward a sense of community (kula). Laura has been blessed to
study with Anusara Yoga founder, John Friend, as well as many other gifted
Certified Anusara Yoga teachers. Laura is a 500 hour Registered Yoga Teacher
with the Yoga Alliance and is the only Certified Anusara Yoga Teacher in
Indiana. Laura’s teachings offer the invitation to step into one’s heart to
courageously find deeper meaning and joy both within one’s self and the world
around. She offers detailed alignment instruction that helps to create
sensitivity, awareness, and openings in the body. By creating deeper meaning
and aligning in optimal ways, we can more easily step into the dance of life to
celebrate our innate goodness and to respond to life in ways that are
life-affirming – enhancing our lives and the lives of all those that come into
contact with us. Laura leads our Anusara Yoga® class.
Jen Xanders has been blessed with the experience of finding
yoga. It has been part of her life since 1997 in some way. Over the
years, her practice has evolved with special interest in vinyasa,
ashtanga, and bikram but mostly the heat! The heated room became a
place of solace from her especially chaotic new life as a mother of
young twins. In 2007 she earned her 200 hour Yoga Teacher certification
through the guidance of Nancy Schalk and APYC. Jen feels honored to be
able to share her passion for yoga with others. She constantly looks to
seek out opportunities to continue to learn and grow and works to pass
on this inspiration to her students. Her goal is for each student to be
challenged and surprised by their bodies and spirits and to inspire
them to work toward a ‘quiet mind, a healthy body and an open heart'. Jen is one of our Vinyasa Instructors.

Rosa O'Connor came to yoga as a physical activity after many years of aerobic dance, kick boxing, etc. The home practice with videos soon included classes at All People Yoga Center and other studios. Experiencing the gifts of the teachers she encountered and realizing it is so much more than exercise, she embarked on her path to teacher certification. With the amazing instruction of Nancy Schalk and Ann Miller, she completed the YTT 200 hour course in 2007. She is registered with the Yoga Alliance and continues her education with teachers of various styles of yoga at conferences and workshops. She has been offering instruction for almost 3 years; loving every single minute of sharing the wonders of the practice!
Rosa’s classes are based on the traditional Hatha style, incorporating breathing, meditation and smooth sequencing of postures. All levels of experience are welcome. Classes are structured to meet the needs of the student and are different each time.
Rosa has been with her hubby, Pat, for 40 years and they have two children, Lisa (a star Yogini and wind beneath her mama’s wings) and Ryan, a gentle, kind, talented young music man. In 2006 Noema arrived and is already a creative, free-spirited, budding Yogini!
Rosa teaches a Hatha class and is so excited about being the newest member of the APYC teacher family!
